I have been in the Family Care
program for 7 years. It’s wonderful. The program has provided me
with more than enough medical supplies. With my current level of
pain, I don’t know what I’d do without this program.
I would absolutely recommend Family Care to my friends and
family.
I know how people making the transition feel. The transition to
Family Care for me flowed pretty smoothly. Someone came to me
and described the changes in person. This made it easier to
accept the changes.
Once I got to know my care manger, things were good. The nurse
and care manger found out what I needed. They think of supplies
that I need before I even ask for them. My care manager visits
every three months and my nurse visits every six months. They
are a constant in my life. If I have a question or a problem, I
can get through and ask them right away. Having someone to
discuss personal issues with is a big deal for me. Both my care
manager and nurse are wonderful people.
My advice to people deciding whether or not to transition to
Family Care would be: just do it!
Family Care has been so good to me. I have been in the program
for quite a while now. My social worker at the time got me on
Family Care when I was without insurance.
My current social worker is good to me. She comes to visit very
often, and takes care of everything for me. She sometimes comes
by even when I don’t call. The other day I was going to the
grocery store in the snow, and my walker was making a lot of
noise. My social worker came over and greased it for me.
There is nothing that I dislike about Family Care. It has been a
good experience. I sure would recommend it.
I would recommend
Family Care. It is a good program. There are so many options
compared to other programs. If you don’t like option A, you can
choose option B.
I would definitely recommend the agency that provides care
management services to my parents. My parents’ care manager and
a nurse came to meet with us at the nursing home my parents were
staying at. They showed up at 8:00 a.m. and gave us all of the
details we needed. They went with me to look at apartments for
my parents, and helped me interview and hire my parent’s
workers. When I call, she returns my calls within 24 hours. This
agency has changed our lives tremendously.
The key is having a care manager who is knowledgeable,
dedicated, and experienced.
Family Care provides all that we need. Take advantage of it.
I would recommend Family Care. I've been in the program for 2 or
3 years. Everything is going just fine. I have no
complaints.
My social worker signed me up to go to a center where I get
lunch and do different programs. I go to the center 5 days a
week. A van picks me up at home, drops me off at the center, and
takes me back home. I am busy every second of the day. I just
love it; it's just wonderful. It keeps my mind off of things.
If I need help, I either call my doctor or my social worker. If
they are not there, they call me back. People at the center also
know who to call if I need help. Everyone watches out for me and
is good to me. I'd write a book about them if I could. I'll
swear by Family Care.
My parents’ current
team (made up of a care manager, nurse, and consumer) is
compassionate and has lots of respect.
Our current care manager is wonderful, well-informed, and
well-trained. She listens, is patient, and is understanding. She
came to us with information and a back up plan, and is able to
answer all our questions and concerns. She really helped us. We
were able to get our parents out of the nursing home and into
their own apartment. Once they were in the apartment, my mom
bloomed and my dad was very peaceful.
The main thing is to have workers who are well-trained and
knowledgeable, so that people can make well-informed choices.
This program works.
I think Family Care is good; it helps me. They set you up with
meals if you are not steady on your feet. I also have help with
cleaning two times a week.
I call my social worker when I need help, and I have a nurse
that comes once a week and checks my vitals and weight.
I have
recommended Family Care to a couple of people.
